Key Features of the Curriculum

Christian Heritage Academy academic curriculum covers a full spectrum from Pre Kindergarten to grade 12. We have highlighted the key features of the curriculum in the early childhood, elementary and high school.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM: Pre-K to Kindergarten
  • Rich literature-based program nurtures early reading/writing readiness.
  • Hands-on discovery approach makes science/math curriculum fun and practical.
  • Stimulating atmosphere provides challenges by focusing on children’s individual needs.
  • Daily schedule includes small group interaction, which helps the children to cooperate, listen and share.
  • Experiences in music, physical education, library, and art enhance children’s curiosity, creativity and independence.
  • Religious instruction helps the child's spiritual and emotional development by strengthening self-control and encouraging growth in self-discipline and positive self-image through a growing knowledge of God and growing trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.

  ELEMENTARY SCHOOLGrades 1 - 6
  • Strong literature-based program develops reading, writing and critical thinking skills.
  • Enriched math, science and computer technology programs focus students on using their deductive reasoning skills to solve real life problems
  • Students begin to develop communicative abilities in a foreign language.

  • Rich music and art programs provide opportunities for esthetic appreciation and enjoyment.
  • Social studies curriculum leads students into an awareness of their society, the global environment, history and current events.
  • Physical education is an integral part of the curriculum.

JUNIOR HIGH & HIGH SCHOOL: Grades 7-12

  • Strong communication arts program continues to develop students’ reading, writing, oral, and critical thinking skills.
  • Students continue their foreign language studies.
  • A rich physical education program gives students the opportunity to develop athletic skills, and includes the opportunity to compete with other schools in track and field.
  • Students continue to study the sciences, social studies, and math at a more advanced, in-depth level, preparing them to excel on the New York State Regents Examinations and College Board Advanced Placement Examinations
  • Students on the advanced track can earn High School credit in Grades 7 and 8 and college credit in Grades 11 and 12.
  • Field trips, designed to correlate with the classroom curriculum, enhance the students’ learning experience.
