Rewards of the Fast that Pleases God

Some people fast and do whatever they want during the fast time.  Then they say "Why aren't you impressed God?" "Because you quarrel and fight..., lack humulity..., live for yourself and continue to oppress your workers..", is His response.  Isaiah 58 records the kind of fast that pleases God.

• The bonds of wickedness will be cut
• The oppressed will go free
• The yokes of oppression will be broken
• The poor will be fed and clothed
• Your salvation shall come like the dawn
• Healing will come speedily
• Your righteousness will be your reputation preceding you
• The glory of the Lord shall follow and guard you
• Your prayer will be answered immediately
• The Lord will manifest Himself in your midst
• Your light will shine in the midst of the darkness
• Your darkest times will be as bright as day
• You will have continued guidance from the Lord
• You will be full in times of famine
• You will be filled with strength in the very center of your life
• The Holy Spirit will flow within you and make you fruitful and beautiful
• The Holy Spirit will fill you daily and make you like a spring that never runs dry
• Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities
• You will be a repairer of the breach, a restorer of streets in which to dwell
• You will be delighted with God
• You will receive great honor and full share of God's promises
