Educational Fee Basis - New Students

Fee Basis is the overall cost of educating your child.  This includes the tuition, fees, capital development and other assocaited costs that determine the overall cost of education at Christian Heritage Academy.

Discounts

Multiple Child  

There is a 10% discount off the tuition only portion of the yearly fees for other children in the same family.This applies to all grades except the 2-year olds, where full rates apply.   

  Full Payment

5% off of the year's tuition only portion of the yearly fees for full payments made by the 3rd Friday  of August.  The exact date is determined yearly.  

  Referrals

$200 referral discount off the tuition only portion of the yearly fees for parents who refer a student who register and attend school for that year.  The discount only applies for the year of referral. Yearly discounts apply up to a maximum of $1,000.

  

Multiple discounts could apply in certain cases.  Please refer to the office to determine full discounts.

Subsidies

Christian Heritage Ministries provides subsidies in the areas of Capital Development, Program Development and Tuition Subsidy to all students who cannot meet the demands of the full education Fee Basis.   

The ministry accepts donations to cover the areas of subsidies from individuals, organizations and groups.  Donations are tax deductable. Christian Heritage is a Federal 501(c)(3) organization.

  

 

Scholarships

 Heritage Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are offered each year.  Each applicant is assessed to determine eligibility based on financial needs, academic performance and citizenship standards.  Financial qualifications is determined by an independent body, Family Financial Needs Assessment (FFNA) on behalf of the schoool. FFNA can process those requests through their web site or, application forms are available at the school office. The school ID for FFNA is 2685. The latest date to apply to FFNA is April 9, 2010.

High School  

Offers one academic scholarship each year for all  incoming freshmen.  An entrance exam is required. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2010.  Application information and criteria can be obtained at the school office. The entrance examination will be administered on July 30, 2010.

Financing

Cash Equivalents 

A Tuition Payment plan system manages the payment process. Check, direct debit, or credit cards are accepted.

Sallie Mae Loans  

Loans are available through Sallie Mae Funding, the web site is www.salliemae.com.  Christian Heritage is a registered school in their system.  They facilitate loans at a low interest rate which can be repaid at a more convenient schedule. Other Funding Sources

CHA is a registered  provider with the City of New York.  We accept private school ACD/ACS vouchers to cover the costs of the program.  It covers most fees for the day program, inclusive of lunch for children in Pre-K through Kindergarten grades. The City covers the cost of day programs up to Kindergarten and After-School programs through the 8th grade.

UPK Provider 

Christian Heritage is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) for Universal Pre-Kindergarten(UPK).  The City covers the cost of 2 1/2 hours of schooling from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. week days.  This applies to 4-yr olds only. These 2 1/2 hours are free to parents.  The remainder of the day has a pro-rated cost of the normal fees to parents.

 

 

Payment Options

Payment Plan  

Payments are scheduled as a 10 month plan. There is a payment plan fee of $45 per family.

  Full Payment

Can be made directly to the front office.  Payments made by the third Friday of August are eligible for the 5% discount on the Tuition only portion of the cost.  Cash, money order, check or credit card are acceptable.   

  

Return check fee of $45 and late fee of $35 applies to all transactions  

 

 

Refund Policy

  

Any applicable refunds will be at the sole discretion of Christian Heritage Academy and are not guaranteed under any circumstances.  Certain payments may be refunded as decided by the office of financial affairs

The first semester payments are for June 1st 2010 through December 31, 2010. The second semester payments are for January 1st, 2011 through June 30, 2011. All fees are non-refundable including the application fee and all other fees.

  

Before School Begins

(i.e. before September 7, 2010)

  • If I am utilizing the Payment Plan, the first tuition payment is to be paid by June 15th and is non-refundable. 
  • If I am not utilizing Payment Plan, the amount equal to the first tuition payment under the Payment Plan                           is non-refundable.
  • The deadline for a request for refund for any prepaid amounts, other than the amount equal to the first tuition payment under the Payment Plan, is August 20th of that school year.

After School Begins

(i.e. after September 7, 2010)

  
  • No part of the current semester’s tuition will be refunded.
  • All payments for the current semester are expected, regardless of whether or not the student completes the school year at CHA.

 

  • It is the policy of the school that the Payment Plan is not in effect for second semester enrollments (January 1st, through June 30th of the school year). However, under certain circumstances, the school may allow the Payment Plan to be used.  If full payment of the tuition is made prior to the beginning of the second semester, any refund would be at the sole discretion of Christian Heritage Academy.  Should a student who is registered in the first semester (September 7th through December 31st) become unable to complete the school year at CHA after January 1st of the current school year, all payments are expected for the student.

Other Programs

Breakfast  

The breakfast program is not in operation at this time. 

  Lunch

The lunch program offers a hot lunch or sandwich with essential nutrients.  A monthly menu is available in the front office.  Payment can be made in advance.  Lunch orders are recieved on Fridays only for the following week.

AfterSchool  

After-school care is available for students in grades Kindergarten through the sixth grade.  Costs and program schedules are available in the school office.   Applications can be printed from our web site.  Before-school care is available free of cost as a courtesy to families.  Drop off time is 7 a.m.

  Tutoring

Subject tutoring can be arranged for students who require remedial work or for advanced students needing additional work.  SAT and other exams prep courses are available.  Direct arrangements should be made with subject teachers or grade teachers. Additional costs apply.

Extra Curricular 

Available in musical instrument lessons.  Arrangements can be made wth the music teacher.

Tuition Payment Plan

Tuition payments are scheduled in ten equal monthly installments. A pre-payment discount applies when paid in full by August 21, 2009 (please ask the receptionist for more details).
