PRE – KINDERGARTEN

PARENT STUDENT GUIDE

 

(1)  The Pre-K Department opens daily (Monday-Friday) at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m.

  • 2-3-year old students are received at 4209 Avenue J. 
  •  4-year old Pre-K students are received at 4115 Avenue J. 
  •  Children must be accompanied to the school door by an adult and will be received by a Christian Heritage Academy staff member.    

(2)  All visitors are required to sign in at the office and receive a pass before being allowed into the classroom. 

 

(3)  All children who arrive at the school after 8:15 a.m. should have been fed their breakfast at home. 

  • Breakfast time at the Academy is 7:00 a.m.-8:15 a.m. 
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks must be provided by the parents. 
  • If required, lunches will be warmed before they are served.  No frozen foods are allowed.

(3)  Please supply healthy snacks including two fruit juices for your child.  No glass bottles or glass containers are allowed.

 

(4)  Please notify the Pre-K department in case of student's lateness, absence, or illness.  Communicable diseases require a doctor’s note upon  

      child’s return to school.  PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IF THERE IS AN OBVIOUS OR

      QUESTIONABLE SKIN RASH ON YOUR CHILD’S BODY.  A DOCTOR’S EXAMINATION WILL BE NECESSARY

      AND THE DOCTOR’S NOTE PRODUCED FOR CHILD’S RETURN TO SCHOOL.

 

(5)  No toys, hard or soft candy, money, gum, jewelry, and hair beads should be brought to, or worn, in school.

 

(6)  Please label each child’s lunch box, uniform, or other personal belongings.  Each child’s plastic container should be of sufficient size (not too

       large) to accommodate a bed sheet and a change of clothing. Each child's booster seat and or car seat must be labeled by parents when required on trip days.

 

(7)  Board of Health directive:   each child must have an up-to-date medical record form on file at the school.

 

(8)  Board of Health directive:  NO MEDICATIONS will be administered to your child here at the Academy.

 

(9) All tuition must be paid on or before the due date.  Remember, there is a service charge for returned checks due to insufficient funds, and a late payment fee of $45.00.

 

(10) Since there are always deadlines to meet when trip reservations are made, all charges  for school trips must be paid in advance.  

        Therefore,  we must have your sincere cooperation in this regard.

 

 

 UNIFORM  AND GROOMING

·        Pre-K Uniform

  1.  Boys: The uniform consists of khaki trousers with a brown belt, a white shirt, a maroon vest sweater with school crest, the school tie, brown leather shoes (that can be polished) and brown socks.
  2.  Girls: The uniform consists of a gray jumper (tunic), a white blouse, a maroon cardigan (sweater) with school crest, a maroon criss-cross tie, white socks and/or white tights, and black shoes (that can be polished).
  3.   Complete uniform must be worn Monday though Thursday.  Fridays are reserved for gym clothes with sneakers.  Please teach your children to follow these guidelines at this early stage in their lives.
  4.   Children’s finger nails must be cut.  No nail polish or fake nails are allowed.
  5.   Hair must be kept clean and well groomed.  Boy’s hair must be low cut, well groomed, and unbraided.
  6. Your child will not be allowed in class if they are not in the required uniform unless prior authorization is given from the office.

 

DEVOTIONS

 

Devotion begin each day at 8:30 a.m. sharp.  This is a vital portion of the Christian Heritage Academy Pre-K student’s  day.  Because “all your children shall be taught by the Lord and great shall be the peace of your children,” daily devotion attendance is very necessary.  Please do not deny your child/children this wonderful promise of the Lord.

 

PICK-UP TIME

 

Please have a good back-up system planned for picking up your child on time.  A 10 minute grace period is allowed after 6:00 p.m. However,  a $10.00 late charge fee will be due after 6:10 p.m.
