Christian Heritage Ministries—It’s a New Beginning |
|
In the last several years as we have reflected on the theme of Rebuilding the Destroyed Foundations, God has shown us how far the church has moved from its central focus of being salt and light in an increasingly perverse world. The viability of the church has been questioned as never before yet never have we needed the church more. The gift of daily corporate morning prayer has been hidden from many yet it remains the lifeblood of Christian Heritage Ministries. In this New Beginning may we recognize the grand purpose of the church of Jesus Christ and may we with repentant hearts embrace the specific call God has for each of us as members of His church. It is no longer a time to be at “ease in Zion” but rather it is now time to be engaged in the work of building up the kingdom of God. The church has always been an exciting place to be and it is no different now. God is doing a more |

comprehensive yet deeper work at Christian Heritage. There are new ministries being raised up as the Holy Spirit directs. We are seeing changes in the traditional ways of doing things, in the revamping of the Sunday School and youth departments. In the newly established discipleship classes members are being prepared to use their gifts to make an impact on this world. We are learning to be patient as our hearts are made ready to receive the life transforming word of God. Now we see buds of new life springing up everywhere. The youth are gaining a new understanding of what it means to be converted; the young adults in college or starting their careers are being challenged in new ways to live a life committed to Christ. As we embrace this theme of a New Beginning God is pouring within us by His Spirit new wine. For some new wine is not palatable – too tart, not aged enough. But Jesus tells us this radical new message of the kingdom of God will not be contained in the old wineskins. It may mean parting with our cherished opinions and ways of doing things and embracing the new. And yet our foundation has never been stronger. We have remained steeped in prayer and fasting as a church. Christian Heritage Ministries stands firmly on the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. We are alert and watchful that the leaven of discord and the antichrist spirit does not infect body life. By God’s grace as we submit to the move of the Holy Spirit may this New Beginning bring forth a spirit of love, cooperation and unity that will produce hundredfold fruit.U

Beginnings are a wonderful way of relieving us from past burdens. Like the buds of spring which signal the beginning of life, a new beginning clothes us with new hope, new expectations and a welcome second chance. We breathe a sigh of relief and revel inside that God has granted us another opportunity to “get it right.” As we introduce the new Christian Heritage Ministries Tribune, we invite you to rejoice with us that we have the opportunity to declare the wonderful Good News of Jesus Christ in this magazine format. |
